Physical Therapy focuses on helping individuals develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability. Physical Therapists help children move and perform throughout their lives by working on strength, balance, posture, endurance and mobility.

In early intervention, Physical Therapy supports gross motor development: rolling, sitting, crawling, pulling to stand, walking, climbing, and navigating the world safely. Treatment is play-based and woven into the routines of the family so that practice continues between sessions.

Our Physical Therapists partner with families and caregivers to set functional goals, recommend positioning and equipment where needed, and coach parents so that every part of the child's day becomes an opportunity for movement and progress.

What a session actually looks like

Our clinicians work where children live and play — living room floors, kitchen tables, backyards and parks — with caregivers right there in the session.

Caseloads are built around real drive times, and every clinician is supported by an interdisciplinary team that shares strategies across disciplines.

Is your child experiencing any of the following?

  • Delayed gross motor milestones
  • Difficulty rolling, sitting, crawling or walking
  • Low or high muscle tone
  • Poor balance and frequent falling
  • Toe walking or an unusual gait pattern
  • Asymmetrical movement or head preference (torticollis)
  • Difficulty with stairs, climbing or playground equipment
  • Reduced strength or endurance compared to peers
  • Discomfort with movement or changes in position
  • Concerns following prematurity or a birth injury

This is the clinical work our physical therapy team is trained to take on every day.
